Membership of the association is open to chief police officers and senior police staff serving in:
- Home Office forces and non-Home Office forces in England and Wales.
- The Police Service of Northern Ireland.
- Police Scotland.
- National Police Chief’s Council, National Crime Agency and College of Policing.
- The National Police Co-ordination Centre, ACRO Criminal Records Office and His Majesty’s Inspectorate.
- Such other organisations as the CPOSA Committee may from time to time decide.
Members should recognise the value of membership of CPOSA as the national negotiating body for chief officers and the subsequent protections afforded by the group insurance scheme.
