The Panel of Friends is a group of chief officers who give up their time voluntarily to support other chief officers who find themselves in need owing to complaints, conduct allegations or other workplace issues.
Friends offer an invaluable service to members who find themselves subject to personal scrutiny and who would benefit from having support from a colleague.
No matter how experienced you might be as a senior Police Officer, your mind may not benefit from its normal clarity of thought when you find yourself in this situation.
